THE LAST WEST

The Last West exhibit gallery focuses on the non-Native settlement of the Big Horn Basin and features ranching, farming, and the sometimes violent struggles between settlers. Visitors can experience life as the region's earliest settlers knew it.  This gallery includes a walk-in pioneer dugout home, an original sheep wagon outfitted for life on the plains, and a snow-covered cow figure memorializing the brutal winter of 1886-87. Visitors to this gallery will find an extensive history of the settlement of Worland and Washakie County, with interactive audio and video components throughout.
