Pitch Perfect: The Worland Monarchs

From 1970 to 1977 the Worland Monarchs dominated women’s fast pitch softball. Lead by coach Ray Sanchez, the Monarchs set a Wyoming record by winning six consecutive state championships with an impressive record of 245-58. The team still holds the record for the longest winning streak in the history of Wyoming women's softball with 63 consecutive wins. This new summer exhibit celebrates the history of these incredible young women as well as their beloved coach, “Sanch”, in their own words, and highlights an exciting but sometimes forgotten story of local, hometown pride.
