The Phoenix Project includes 55 photographs of unique art pieces by artist T. (Terri) Stardust. T. Stardust traveled to all 50 states to create site specific work from found objects, then photographed and left to nature. Inspired after assisting in freeing a trapped Golden Eagle while hiking in the badlands West of Worland, WY, T. Stardust used this experience to create a Phoenix sculpture from the Eagle's trap turning "junk" into art and continuing the creations around the country.
An artist dedicated entirely to working with copper, T. Stardust graduated from the University of Denver with a degree in Fine Arts focusing on sculpture and in 2006 started her company, Stardust Copper Designs. The process she uses is called "repousse," an ancient technique developed in early Mycenaea. The technique strengthens thin copper sheets by working both sides of the piece. T. Stardust continues to strive for new techniques to add to her work including the addition of color to her pieces, a learning process that has taken 16 years and continues to evolve. In addition to sculpture pieces, T. Stardust enjoys creating "wearable" artwork and started making jewelry in 2009 as a new development of her business.
